Youth in Crisis

Young people have lost a sense of hope.
They wonder who or what they can trust.

Many children up in unstable families. They may experiment with sex and drugs without considering the consequences. To make matters worse, they make these choices at an earlier age than in previous generations. Given the moral and spiritual vacuum of our culture, many young people have no clear moral values to guide them in making wise choices. If they follow the crowd, they are likely to get into trouble. Often their cultural heroes are leading them astray.

But that’s not the whole story. The youth of today long for a cause to follow. In a world of broken dreams and broken promises, they want to be part of the solution. It’s not that young people don’t care. Most of them want to help make the world a better place.

That’s where the church of Jesus Christ has something utterly unique to offer. Instead of political change or social upheaval, Christianity says to people who have lost hope, “You don’t have to stay the way you are.” That’s what Jesus meant when he said, “You must be born again.” No politician can do what Jesus can do. No cultural icon can change the heart.

Young people seek a cause worth living for. The only real answer lies in the gospel of Jesus Christ. That’s the good news. The youth of today want someone to show them that Jesus is real, that he has the power to change them, and that following him will make a difference in the world.

Jesus was a young man, and his first followers were young.  Christianity started as a youth movement. It’s still true today. Jesus offers hope to this confused generation. He alone can forgive sin, impart new life, and give you the power to change your world.

Did you know that 2 billion people are under the age of 18? What a harvest field lies in front of us! Let’s challenge them to change the world through the power of Jesus Christ.
